Field Trip Information

Maze PlaygroundLocated on the Cumberland-Atlantic County line, Muzzarelli Farm is a fourth generation family owned business that started in 1937. In the fall of 2010 we will begin the ninth year of offering agricultural education sessions to students PreK-2nd. With more than 20 variations of crops grown on our fields, we will offer students a wide variety of opportunities to learn the many steps taken in field preparation, planting, growing, and harvesting the many Jersey Fresh vegetables.

We have devised a vegetable hunt through a corn maze and through a straw maze that will test the student’s ability to adapt their new movement skills. At the conclusion of the hunt, students will have a bag of fresh vegetables to take home with them. Students can also participate in hands on activities and find their way out of our rope maze. Walk through our bales of straw maze and bring your camera for our photo area. Schuler’s Bee’s will demonstrate pollination of crops, production of honey, and life cycle of bees for all age groups. When the session is complete, students can eat their lunch or snacks at the farm’s outdoor picnic facility.

Our retail market was honored by Vineland’s Daily Journal in 1995, 2000, 2001, 2005, through 2009 with their “Best of the Best Award”. We are confident in our commitment to this new venture and are sure that you will be pleased with what we have developed for the students that have the opportunity to visit our family farm operation.
