Fresh Jersey peaches, a crisp crunchy top, and a forkful of sweet summer flavor—peach crisp is a seasonal staple that delivers every time. All you need are few simple ingredients for a taste of what Mom used to make. Easy, sweet, and deliciously simple.
What You’ll Need:
• 6-8 fresh peaches
• 2 cups of all-purpose flour
• 1 ½ cups of sugar
• 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon
• 1 cup of chilled butter
• Pinch of salt
What You’ll Need to Do:
First order of business: preheat the oven to 350°, and peel the skins off 6-8 fresh Jersey peaches. Slice peaches into wedges and layer in a 9×13 inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 ½ cups of sugar, 1 ½ teaspoons of cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Slice butter into chunks and mix into dry ingredients.
By now, the oven should be just about preheated. Cover the peaches with the mixture and bake for 40-45 minutes until lightly brown, and then finish under the broiler for 1-2 minutes until top is crisp.
Let cool, and serve with a scoop (or two!) of creamy vanilla ice cream for something truly sweet.
