Ready to shake up your Friday night pizza ritual? Smoked sausage, spinach, and shredded gouda baked into a golden, flaky crust will have you canceling delivery. With a few ingredients and little time, you’ll have hearts in your eyes till the last slice stands.
What You’ll Need:
• 1-2 bunches of spinach or 1 pkg of baby spinach
• 2 links of smoked chicken jalapeño mango sausage
• 1 tablespoon of olive oil
• ½ small red onion
• 3 sliced cloves of garlic
• ¼ teaspoon of red pepper flakes
• 2 cups of shredded gouda
• 1 premade thin pizza shell
• Half of lemon (optional)
What You’ll Need to Do:
Before we get started, let’s preheat the oven to 450° so it’s ready to roll when we are. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat, and stir in ½ of a small red onion sliced thin with 3 cloves of garlic and ¼ teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Give the ingredients a whisk and cook for 2 minutes. Now add in fresh spinach, and cook until wilted and water is gone.
Place your premade pizza crust on a pizza pan and evenly scatter ¾ of a cup of shredded gouda and layer with your spinach mixture. Slice your precooked smoked chicken jalapeño mango sausages into thin medallions and arrange over spinach. Top your pizza with 1¼ cups of shredded gouda and bake at 450° until crust is golden. Optionally, squeeze half of a fresh lemon over the top, and you’re ready for a slice of heaven!
